No posts for awhile cause my internet has been down. On top of that I am actualy unemployeed and spending alot of time looking for work.

I spent last week in the city getting lost while trying to find interview spots, so I feel like I know my way around the city a bit more and was 'wowed' by a lot of buildings, architecture and just people in general. Sydney is so full of tourists, which is pretty cool. 

I have also been spending alot of time sewing, making a bag and a top that is not quite finished with.

I want this dragonfly necklace I found while searching for Mum's birthday present, which by the way was a great present - Australian Here and Now Monopoly, Black and Brown scarf, an Owl necklace and some amazing purfume that name escapes my memory. We then went out for dinner at some fancy as seafood restaurant. 

Long weekend

I am loving '4 days off', although I don't have a job to go back to tomorrow I have interviews lined up will spending working hours trying to get a job. The boys family came up over the weekend and it was so much fun! I always love seeing the kids (nieces and nephew), we took them to the Royal Easter show and even though we had fun it was a great day out.

It was such a good day and the kids really enjoyed the rides and where warn out by 2PM.

We then drove down to Woolongong to see our friends band Yoko Oh No. It was a really good night catching up with some friends from Canberra and just getting out of the house that we find our selfs forever in.

The other thing I have been spending my time doing is sewing, I have committed to sewing a quilt for my sisters coming baby. And truthfully I am sucking at it but having fun at the same time.

I found so cute and cheap material from spotlight and thought while I am getting used to the machine again I will make a little bag. I just need to get some chain for a strap.

And yes I was lazy and took photos on webcam.

Most of my time this past week has been spent on searching for a job and preparing for interviews. Tomorrow is my last day at the current job, kind of excited but also kind of scared, this will be the first time of unemployment for 3 years. Hopefully I'll find something next week.

So we sat out side the other night for earth hour, had a few drinks and played Bluff, my mums new favorite game cause she always wins.

As I have mentioned before we have some friends living in our roof, friends who make to much noise at night. We ended up having to put a cage in the roof and this is who we found in there.

I fell in love with him and wanted to keep him, but he is a bit dangerous and they took him to a new home. I hope he is safe.

I dug out my mums sewing machine this weekend and have already started on making anything I can think of. It has been years since the last time I used it so I am a bit rusty. But here is my Fade to Black inspired clutch - she has black ones on her site that are 100 x times better that what I made.

And a black singlet I use some scrap material to pretty up.

We went to the farmers markets in Homebush today, it was pretty awesome. I wish I had taken my camera even though I don't think I would of been allowed to take photos.

For $40 we got heaps of veggies and fruit!

And then I made veggie skewers for lunch.

I had coffe in the city with my mum the other afternoon, Wednesday I think it was. It was nice sitting near the Opera House having my $11 coffee.

My life has been pretty boring this week. Mostly looking for work, spending a lot of time on Seek.com.

We saw Brand New last night. I was so happy, I am always weary going to a band that I don't like the newest album, but they played a lot of their old albums and it was amazing!

But we where up the back. Last time I buy tickets the day of the show.

I have one of these (below) in my roof, it isn't cute, it is so annoying. Possums make the most annoying noises and I can hear it's claws and it walks around.

You know that day before you get sick... that itchy throat feeling, the heavy stomach, the head ache and or the sniffles. That's what I have today, here's for hopping I am over exaggerating.
Remember when you where a kid and your parents would tell you that the best medicine was a warm drink of milk before bed or a spoon full of honey? Once I hit about 15 I remember my neighbour told me to have a shot of Brandy. A list of things that I remember that being told that fixes sick/flu

3. Fresh Orange juice
4. Warm glass of milk/malt
5. Chicken Soup
6. Wear socks to bed

It's horrible when you go over on internet, it's even worse when your used to 50 gig and go down to 30 but that's life I guess. So no photos of anything that takes to long for the next few days. 

As the last weeks of my jobs are ahead, and soon that will turn into days, I am ever pressed with the subject of 'what are you going to do when you finish?' and when I can't answer that question the next is always 'what do you want to do?' I just want to shout in return 'I DON'T KNOW AND I BET YOU DIDN'T EITHER WHEN YOU WHERE 20' but of course that isn't how I answer. I don't have corporate dreams to have job that over takes my life. 

So now my time is spent browsing Seek.com and wonder if I would like each job but at the end of it I only want to know how much they will pay me - and that's it isn't it, I just want to be paid. 

I care more about getting paid so I can once again move out of my parents house, although I am enjoying spending my money on what ever I want and living with my kitten again, I really want my own space. I want to get it some terribly comfortable routine of going home at night to my boy and cooking so crappy meal and cuddling, and doing it again and again. Mind you in my little day dream our place is awesome all antique full of nick-nacks. 

On to some fun news! I am going to see a baby elephant tomorrow!

Okay, so she's not the classiest chick out, but I still feel for her, probably because she has gotten such a bad wrap so I feel sorry for her. At the end of the day she is just a 22 year old girl - who hasn't done something they are not proud of (refer to 'dating' a footballer who was married), not everyone is followed around by paparazzi when it happens. And although I don't think she is the most attractive girl out, she is cute in the photo below.

I was pretty impressed with myself when I finally organised my wardrobe and book shelf. Im am sure it will only last a short time but for now I think it looks pretty.
We spent the weekend shopping and boy ended up with some great purchases without actually parting with any money, he better remember that when he gets paid.

So I think after my weekend of deciding what I want to do for my 21st I have decided on the most expensive, but I haven't confirmed just yet.

The past two days there has been too much time spent shopping and spending money. 

I did purchase some great items but I do need to stop spending money.

I bought mostly stuff for boy though.

This past week has been crap but on the upside I have started planning my 21sts. I am still deciding on venue and possible theme, I am wanting dress ups of some sort but I think that will depend on the venue.

After the Oscars I was excited to post some of my favorite outfits but it seems that there is more that I dislike then like. But I will post the few.

I am not sure if I actually like Mileys Dress, but it is one of the better ones.

Also I am having a Lady Gaga day, posted her new film clip this morning, all I can say is odd.

But love this song!

After seeing the long awaited Alice in WonderLand by Tim Burton last night I wanted to write about how much I loved it, how the critics where wrong but I am just not sure.

The best way I could describe it was 'cute'. This movie just didn't have the same dark undertone as his other movies. A lot the lines where iffy and the delivery was not always believeable.

I am not a movie critic, in fact I try not to pick movies to bits. Sometimes i just want to enjoy whats there.

The movie was aesthetically pleasing, the 3D was fun and the out fits amazing. Actually the outfits where my favorite part of the movie. So I would like to share some with you.

We got hungry and decided to go out for lunch, boy also wanted to go to JB HI FI so we ended up in Leichardt. Wander back to the car from a cafe we found a botique shoe store with 50% off marked in the entry, of course my mother and I had to go in and good thing we did!

Sifting through what to wear today and I found this cute knitted sweater that Boy's mum made for my birthday a few years back. Such a bad quality photo but I think the face I am pulling is funny.

And on another jump of subject and another photo to share. My mum has been working madly in her new garden and I noticed this morning how nice it is looking, I think some breakfast is to be had at this table.

Winter Comings

So I've been posting a lot of pictures lately, I just keep finding things I want to share.

It's the first day of Autumn, so I decide to talk about winter. 

For the fist time in years I am finding myself looking forward to winter. I find nothing better then lying in the sun on a hot day (with sunscreen on of course!) and winter is usually my most dreaded time of year. I can't stand cold! But the thing about winter that I am looking forward to this year is the accessory's that I have had cravings for - Scarves, gloves, hats/beanies etc. Also my leather jackets, the greatest purchase of last year, one of my loves that I am too scared to wear due to my clumsiness (guaranteed I will spill stuff on it).

Weekend Up Date

A few milestones this weekend. I finally finished In Cold Blood, mind you I finished it at mid night in a house that scares me. Towards the end of the book I decided to google a picture of the killers, it creeped me out. All in all it was a good book, took me awhile to read but I think it was cause I had to keep putting it down when it creeped me out.
Second milestone of the weekend was coming back to Canberra. Which is where this post it actually being written from. I have spent time with 'family' and seen caught up with friends. It was refreshing to see familiar faces and not care about if people think I am crazy. I just can't help my tendency to crack bad jokes and say the wrong thing around new people.
I had lunch with Not Quite Lois and Luce in the city, sticky date pudding for lunch was awesome. Any way find below over load of photos from my weekend.

So we went out for dinner and after my mum turning in to crazy lady we (boy and I) decided to have dinner at 'Red Chili Szechuan', a restaurant I have been eyeing off. We went in and sat down and immediately a girl bought us tea, a small bowl of chili cabbage and menus. Once we decided on what we wanted to eat we waited and talked for about 5 minutes and then started wondering why they weren't taking our order. I look up to notice that there was 5 staff at the counter standing around talking. Figuring them to just being lazy we keep waiting. After about 15 a couple who had come in after us received their meal.... then another table was seated, 5 minutes later (20 since we had put our menus down) that table was served. A few of the waiters had looked at us as they walked past yet still didn't acknowledge us.
There was no real reason why they didn't serve us, we thought that maybe they didn't speak English - the menus where in English. The only real thing that we could find different from other in the restaurant being served was that we where the only Caucasians, but could that really be it? They wouldn't serve us cause we where different?! Maybe I am naive but I didn't think that kind of thing actually happened.

What a ruined night. In case you where wondering, I ended up having Indian for dinner, it was great.

Sharks need love to...

After watching a week long of doco's on Discovery Channel, about 2 months ago, I have fallen in love with sharks. They just don't get enough love!
I mean don't you just want to pat one? I think before I die I am going to have to swim in of the cages and get up close to a shark. And probably shit my pants while doing it.
And in sharks defence.
One one of the docos they did an experiment where they stuck a fake rubber arm and a fish on a stick to see which one the shark attacked, not surprise, it went for the fish. They then did the same experiment in murky water and the shark went for the hand, but actually 'spat' it out. My point: Sharks aren't trying to hunt people they are just mistaking you for food. I should never try debating, my points are stupid.
So rather then spending my time ranting about sharks and why I love them, I should probably do some TAFE work or even look for a job. Guess I probably haven't really explained why but I guess I am just intrigued.

The Art of Beeping, maybe just the courtesy

I was coming out of Coles and a car was blocking the drive way, no only was it that they where blocking the drive way but it was pulling up in a disabled car park (they clearly weren't disabled) which a car was already parked in. I sat on the horn for a good 5 seconds.
I can never decided when it is okay to beep. I mean if I get beeped at and it is not necessary then is annoys me, and lets not lie, I will flip them off. Probably an over reaction.
But when is it okay to beep someone? And whats the difference in the time and amount of beeps.
This is what I think beeps should mean.
One short beep is a reminder e.g you haven't moved off at the lights
A long beep is a get out of the way e.g blocking a drive way or intersection or stopping for no reason
A few beeps is for someone swerving into you or a warning
I don't know really, it just seems to be a recurring topic lately.

I am used to the drive from Canberra to Sydney and vice-versa I have driven this 3 hour trip many times. Each time I am excited by the time I get to Lake George because on the other side of the 'lake' is a wind farm. Is that odd to get excited by wind farms? There is just something about them that makes me smile.

I bet your next question is why I started this post with a picture of Laputa Castle in the Sky?

Because when explaining to Boy why I liked Wind Farms so much I related them to Laputa. And how did I get to this? (yes I am enjoying asking questions to no one).

I now feel silly about explaining this. I like how big they are, how natural they look and yes I know they are man made. So I guess it is about size, and I liken it to the giants in Laputa Castle in the Sky.

And I love that movie.

If you enjoy inescapable blistering heat then you would have loved Soundwave. Don't get me wrong, I love summer but when there is little to no shade and 10 of thousands of people there it just gets too much.
Apart from the fact that the usual bogans and skanky 'lets not wear tops or our pants done up' festival goers, it is probably my favorite.
And for once I was faced with not enough time to see all the bands I wanted to.

The main stage ran an hour late, so unfortunately I missed some bands I wanted to see waiting for the shit ones to finish. Jimmy Eat world pretty much blew my mind. When lead singer Jim sang 'Hear you me' with tears in his eyes I almost wet my pants, seriously so amazing.
Really there where a few note worthy acts, AFI when you realised that Davey Havok could sing album quality on stage (I hate when bands sound like they have just played the CD but so impressed) his range is impressive.

Taking Back Sunday are probably the closest I have to a favorite band, was sad to hear that Boy said the lead singer has gotten fat, I guess that's why he dropped the arrogant persona on stage. Was a good set and though and happy to see them in Australia again. Enter Sharki is a band I only downloaded cause they where playing at Soundwave but what a find, defiantly a band I am going to be listening to more often. And of course I had to stop to watch HIM but at that point in the evening my legs had had enough and home was calling me.

Some more visual pleasure including Rob with a box, Sophie helping me cut off my stockings cause it was too hot to function, dusk etc.

I have recently had a hunger for learning, for wanting to know all this stuff I never knew about, to understand things that I have always struggled to understand or just to learn about stuff I never before showed an interest in. I kind of feel like I sound like Cate Blanchette's character (can't remember her name) in the latest Indiana Jones, you know at the end when she asks the aliens for the meaning of life (I think it was, haven't seen it for awhile). Did I just ruin the ending for anyone? Any way, my point is more about wanting to learn, I'm not sure if it has come about cause there are so many opportunity to learn in Sydney or I am trying to fill up my time with stuff to do, or I have finally flipped and am borderline crazy.
I keep thinking of things that I want to learn about and on top of that I keep finding books on random subject that I think would be cool to know.
I also (and this is nothing new) am 'thingy' about knowing what I am celebrating and why, e.g. Valentines Day, Easter, Christmas etc.
I hate ignorant statements like 'I am not Christian and don't believe in Christianity, but I always celebrate Easter and Christmas'..... okay so I've never heard any make that exact statement but things along that line.
Truthfully I don't really know where this is going or where I intended this to go, I guess it just is what it is.

The Joy of Coffee in the morning

My morning ritual of late has been to get out of bed and head downstairs for some coffee, when 4 weeks back I would at least leave it till 9AM or so until I arrived at work. The mornings that I consciously go without coffee I feel tired and lethargic, and yet some mornings when I have coffee I still have this same feeling.
I don't have coffee on weekend mornings.
Is this coffee a placebo? Does having this morning warm drink actually help me get through my day at work?

Despite 20 years of reassuring research, many people still avoid caffeinated coffee because they worry about its health effects. However, current research reveals that in moderation—a few cups a day—coffee is a safe beverage that may even offer some health benefits. The September issue of Harvard Women's Health Watch weighs the pros and cons of this popular beverage and eases the concerns of moderate coffee drinkers.

The latest research has not only confirmed that moderate coffee consumption doesn't cause harm, it's also uncovered possible benefits. Studies show that the risk for type 2 diabetes is lower among regular coffee drinkers than among those who don't drink it. Also, coffee may reduce the risk of developing gallstones, discourage the development of colon cancer, improve cognitive function, reduce the risk of liver damage in people at high risk for liver disease, and reduce the risk of Parkinson's disease. Coffee has also been shown to improve endurance performance in long-duration physical activities.

For those who drink coffee to stay alert, new research suggests that you'll stay more alert, particularly if you are fighting sleep deprivation, if you spread your coffee consumption over the course of the day. Well, no Hallmark didn't invent the holiday, in true Hallmark style they took a holiday that had meaning (but like usual has lost it along the line) and turned the holiday into gift cards. I mean why not right? Isn't everything these days about spending money, you don't really love someone unless you spend money on them.
A year or two back I decided that I would send cards to the people I loved, including my parents and sister and close friends. My attempt to understand what this day was all about.

After reading the wiki (always the first stop) on valentines day and even looking into some christian websites, I pretty much found out one thing. No one really knows where Valentines day originated from. The popular theory is that the day is a feast day for 2 or 3 saints who share the name Valentine (apparently a popular name back then) yet only one of these saints did anything close to romantic.

One legend contends that Valentine was a priest who served during the third century in Rome. When Emperor Claudius II decided that single men made better soldiers than those with wives and families, he outlawed marriage for young men — his crop of potential soldiers. Valentine, realizing the injustice of the decree, defied Claudius and continued to perform marriages for young lovers in secret. When Valentine's actions were discovered, Claudius ordered that he be put to death.

Other stories suggest that Valentine may have been killed for attempting to help Christians escape harsh Roman prisons where they were often beaten and tortured.

According to one legend, Valentine actually sent the first 'valentine' greeting himself. While in prison, it is believed that Valentine fell in love with a young girl — who may have been his jailor's daughter — who visited him during his confinement. Before his death, it is alleged that he wrote her a letter, which he signed 'From your Valentine,' an expression that is still in use today. Although the truth behind the Valentine legends is murky, the stories certainly emphasize his appeal as a sympathetic, heroic, and, most importantly, romantic figure. It's no surprise that by the Middle Ages, Valentine was one of the most popular saints in England and France.

But does that really make this saints feast day about love? Another theory that seems to fit is that this saints feast day was moved to February 14th to coincide with a Roman Pagan Festival of Lupercalia, a fertility festival dedicated to Faunus, the Roman god of agriculture, as well as to the Roman founders Romulus and Remus. This festival is over three days from the 13th to the 15th of February.

So, this tradition of love and gifts was originally a feast day turned into a fertility celebration turned into a day about spending money.

The Japanese celebrate the day as women give the men chocolate, yep this day is about the woman giving to the men and only chocolates. The women give chocolates even to male co-workers, these gifts are less expensive then the one given to their intended Valentine. A month later on March 14th the men return the favor on 'White Day' giving white chocolates that must be more expensive.If chocolates are giving that are less expensive the means the guy is wanting to cut the relationship off.

As I am still keen on exploring and trying new things, I insisted that we go to theater sports in Glebe on Friday night. Not the highlight on things I have insisted on doing in case they are interesting/fun. Instead we found ourselves watching some untrained twats pulling out the cheap laugh tactics. And a cheap laugh was exactly what it was, I found myself giggling at penis and gay jokes.
On the upside we had an amazing Japanese dinner.

Loves Chinese New Year.

Loved this guy, he was 'hula-hopping' at 11AM when we going into China Town and still going as we where leaving to go home about 4PM. Very Cute. He was raising money to start a church in Korea. Did I mention that he was shot in the Vietnam War through his leg? His sign even said he would show us. So, here he is chowing down on a fruit I've never seen before, kind of looked like a massive pear or apple.

And last but no least my purchase of shoes today, aren't they amazing!?

I guess this post was inaccurately titled (but it was a poster in Cold Rock that was advertising if you buy your lover a ice cream the second one is half price [and the girl at cold rock gave us $49.50 change from $50]0, as I have not once spoken about boy, who carried my bag around all day while I shopped. Seriously, he has been so good. Tomorrow I might teat him.

I was told today to ‘never let anyone know who you really are’. Only yesterday I was thinking about how we all have some knowledge about something random hidden until someone gets to know us. Why would you hide something so valuable?
Let me put the conversation in context though.

I was in the kitchen of my next office with my hair tied back and a skirt on so a colleague saw my tattoo and nape piercing (neither really outrageous, if fact I think at work I look fairly sensible), after a brief conversation about when I got them and where (after I already had a job and so I was able to hide them if needed) the colleague commented that one of the other gentlemen in the office was actually covered in tattoos, this surprised me because there are no visible tattoos as he wears a long sleeve shirt and pants to work. This is the point where my colleague started talking about being ‘Grey’ meaning not letting people in on who you are just appealing to what they need. I can only assume that he was referring to the workforce, yet still an interesting comment.
We spend more time at work and with people we work with/for then we do at home with family and loved ones yet work is the place that you are meant to hide your personality?

And beyond that, as I said in my first paragraph, I have noticed of recent the random knowledge people have that if you just listen you will learn something new.
What I know of Australian history I learn between year 4 and 6, such stories of bush rangers and gold mining never really appealed to me yet when a girl started talking about ‘Captain Thunderbolt’ (I assumed she was talking about a comic book) and his story I realised that this girl must has researched this independently. I know few (and I am sad to say that I do know people who don’t have any real interest) people who aren’t fascinated or interested in something, a culture, sport, music, art, subculture. And of course when people are interested in something they will go and research it, so many people will have a wealth of knowledge in a certain area.

Another Rainy Day

I insisted on going out today, not caring how bad the weather got. So we decided to go to the art gallery as it was an inside thing.

I would defiantly recommend everyone to visit the Sydney Art Gallery. There is no better place to just wander and stare.
We only got through two ares (not sure what the first one was but it had Aboriginal art, early English art and sculptures and the Asian Section). Of course I loved the Asian section.

I liked this painting below because they speil beside it noted that there was no record of who the painting was of, the broach on his left had been defaced and painted over.

If you ever want to feel humbled an ANZAC or war memorial seem to do the trick. We stumbled across this memorial as we where trying to find our way to the gallery, as with most memorials it was intense. I Guess as the Spartans said 'With your shield or on it'.

Not too far from the Gallery (heading towards Pitt St) was this massive chess board. I've seen them before but never actually seen people playing at one. It would be nice to sit down to a meal one afternoon and watch people who can play.

Tonight will be catching up on my 'unread' pile of comics and cleaning our already (been here a week) messy room.

I always hated people talking about their pets, I may have even mentioned this before. But, I love the shit out of my cat. Last (2008) Christmas my sister come over to the house we where then renting, while playing a game of taboo (oh soo fun) a kitten started meowing at the door and of course my sister went out and played with it, she has her own kitten Biscuit who looks the same. The kitten then wouldn't go away and even after sister left the he (we picked him up and checked the sex while playing with him) hung around. Of course when night came I had to let him inside, we walked around the neighborhood and asked if anyone was missing a kitten. After a fight with the boy we let him stay the night on the condition we would take him to the pound and vet to see if anyone had reported him missing, no one had. Ever since he has been part of our lives, although now he technically lives with my parents and I know my father will never let him go. Now living with my parents I can play with and cuddle whenever I want.

Oh I was going to talk about the things I am addicted/obsessed with/about at the moment.
Reading Truman Capote's 'In Cold Blood', reminding me of my love for true crime books. I think I will need to read some once I have finished my current pile of 'to reads', so far consisting of

Also wanting to read but haven't bought it the tomorrow series by John Marsden. I started reading the first two but haven't found (not that I have looked very far) the third.
And on the subject of books I also have a few comics and graphic novels to get through.

My plan is to explore Sydney over the next few weeks/months/years and bring to you my findings on places to go and things to see. Yes, I am going to do all the tourist stuff. The city is somewhere Ive been (and assume everyone else) to many times so going to find the little things you might usually miss or forget to check out.

I will also buy a new happy snap camera, better then my Asian Yashica that likes to fail, to bring you photos with my plan to show people around Sydney as I go.

Now that I have moved I feel I need to be more cultured, I sound like such a dick saying that.
I want to learn another language, possibly Japanese or Italian.
I want to eat food form places I've never tried before. Boy "Sums Ange up in one". Every other cuture seems to have some many choices for a vegetarian. I think I should try vegan, at least for a bit. Also loving Bagels.

My thoughts are just running out onto this blog right now, so sorry not everything is going to join up.

Drove into Glebe this morning, had breaky with Boy and looked at book stores. I guess I am some what predictable, I just can't walk past a book store. We found a book store (last time we where up) with a cute little caffe out the back, I was a big fan. We didn't eat there but defiantly did make a purchase.
Apart from that a pretty uneventful boring day, we walked around the local trying to find a spotlight or something similar to no avail.

I decided I want to make origami, I bought the wrong paper so I had to use my boring yellow card I already had. I'll post a photo of the end product.

I've been looking at other peoples blogs and want to make mine more appealing to others, I mean isn't that the point of a blog? For someone else to read it!
So any suggestions?

Already recieving complaints

I have been hear a total of 5 days and already recieved a complaint about where I am parking.
I now hate this complex, also cause there is some dickhead out the front who is imitating a disable person (yes being politically correct).

Dear complex, fuck you.

Work is ridiculously hectic, I find myself getting in earlier and leaving later. And the office environment is a lot more professional then Canberra.

We have ceases unpacking even though there is still a lot to do, most of the stuff we use and need are out or up in the room. I doubt we will unpack it all, not untill we find our on place.

Oh and good new, I have enrolled at a TAFE course. Back to school (ish) for me.

That all I can be bother writting about for now.

I have made a deal that now I am here I will wake up early, eat better and do more exercise, day one went well, let see how day two goes.
It's 6:30AM and I am hanging out in bed still, but I am awake. The bed room is still pretty much one big mess of boxes and bags and a few unpacked clothes bags have now been scattered across the room.
In 24 hours I clocked up almost 1200kms driving back and forth from Canberra. Saturday night I was exhausted and gave myself Sunday to relax.
So on Sunday we went to Ikea for breaky and shopping and WOW I was in heaven.

Elliott has come in and decided that he is more important then the laptop and is purring like a tractor. So glad to be back with my kitten.

Back to Ikea, they serve a $2.50 breakfast there, including a vegetarian one. Then I can wander pointlessly through and purchase stuff. Unfortunately, as Blaine was with me, I was only able to purchase essentials otherwise I probably would have spent hundreds.
After Ikea we headed into the city, nothing to new there. We found Kings Comics (what we where looking for) and I got a hair cut for $33, bargain.

Today will be mostly cleaning around here, maybe a swim but first of all a drive to my new office, I figure I should do it in traffic and see how long it takes me to get there.
So now the difficult task of waking Blaine up.

Leaving

I guess this is my last full day in Canberra. It has only just hit me, maybe that is why I am up at 6am.
I am going to miss my family here, even though they drive me insane most days with thousands (7) of kids every where. I guess they say you miss the things you wouldn't expect to.
Almost everything is packed, clothes are all folded on the couch ready to be put in a bag. I don't think I have ever moved and packed this strategically. Everything categorized and put in marked boxes.
I have one last day at work in Canberra office and then a work dinner tonight. So far I haven't felt like I have really had to say 'good-bye' to anyone, I know I will see them all again, but maybe tonight I will begin to feel like I am actually leaving.
But I am looking forward to two things in particular, Ikea and the airport.
I guess I need to get stuck into the day then, slash go have a massive coffee.

I'm finally doing it! I'm moving to Sydney.
I'm not going to lie, it will be sad and will miss some people. I've grown up here, my whole life is here and I feel some what empowered knowing that I can just walk away.
I have given notice at my work. I have started applying for jobs in Sydney.

But now I am going to have to start packing up my life and filling boxes with it. I have done this so many times before but this time it is different. I now will start saying Goodbyes, there will be people who those goodbyes are it, probably the last time I will see them. I want to have a farewell but I am not sure if that is possible, and the girls I want there will be away that weekend.

Currently reading A Thousand Splendid Suns, I have read half of it in about 2 days. I would probably finish it tonight if it was Tuesday (Bones - love that show). Point being is that it is a pretty amazing book.
